Danon, you're more of a sleuth than you know. Hannan's studio is not the closest one to me - just the best!

Hey dev, it's good to see you again..... and so glad to see you clicking! Very Happy

ehBeth, I have no special talents - I Googled 'Toronto Belly Dancers' and came up with quite a large list. I was surprised........ So, I looked at each one and the thing that got me was the address.

Hannan is quite the presentation......... To say the least........

You may tell her she has an admirer in Texas. Very Happy

I realize it's me and the rest of the world - as admirers - of course......

With Thanksgiving Day coming up on Thursday, the 23rd of November in the U.S. (already happened in Canada in October), I felt called to pull up some notes I had taken. Here is what I came up with, springing from the Wildclickers folks:

"For me it was a normal working day- no turkey. But the children had to learn a bit about Thanksgiving,so we did some games, songs, history and ordered a Thanksgiving dinner.
One little boy got some words wrong. So he asked for:
big smashed potatoes, turkey, grave and cornbeds.
What a dinner.Enjoy your holidays!"

Hi Aa, good to see ya.

That is a neat story about ul's kids. My Patti's friend mixes words like that often - we just love her for it. One day we had gravlox (the salmon dish) so she later commented, "I love gridlocks." Shocked Very Happy

all clocked in TX.

Hello, Aa. So good to see you.

Funny, that you remember. This little one is now 14- time is flying.

Hi Danon-
have you chosen the turkey already or will you pardon the Thanksgiving Turkey?

haha, ul, the pardon for the turkey is made........ the duck was not so lucky. Shocked

Very Happy

I am planning to start with leberknodel soup -
Then, with the duck (gebratene ente) - served over a bed of fresh baby spinach - we are having a nice orange vinaigrette - On the side will be kartoffel knodeln, cranberry sauce, a small green salad and a glass of white wine.

After is a small slice of pumpkin pie.

And for me, a bissel 'Otard' Napoleon Extra Fine Cognac.

Now that sounds very inviting.
And then football or baseball?
I remember the first Thanksgiving we had in the States. Suddenly all males were gone- watching TV. But I can't remember: football or baseball.

You know that we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here, but we started a new family tradition with a small Thanksgiving party- for several years now we all attend the Thanksgiving dinner at the UN.
This year's menu really looks good.

Hi Stradee, long time no see. Very Happy

ul, That sounds very interesting - dinner at the UN.

Most guys here watch football - the USA version - I don't - because I don't gamble so don't bet on teams and left all that activity in high school - where I lettered all four years and was captain of the team as a senior. I always thought that if a guy watched football avidly he either was a gambler or a wannabe who didn't make the team in school. I'm sure there are men and women who just watch because it interests them - but, I base my assessment on observing men now that I knew personally in high school. Shocked Sorry for the preaching.

Hi Dan, sorry i haven't chatted with everyone, been super busy at work with the holidays, learning new ordering procedures, etc. and am looking forward to spending the holiday with daughter, s.i.l., a gathering of friends and family too. Three days of relaxation! Very Happy

Ah, football! Miss watching the game on Sunday, or attending 49er extravaganzas at 3 Com [or pacbell] or whatever corp sponsors the Park now. Fifty yard line, 7th row, Budweiser, garlic fries, and warm weather!

Heaven Very Happy

Is it Turkey Time yet in the U.S.?

Set and I (and the dogs of course) are going to take a road trip (migration) starting on Thursday to check in with the hamburgers. The weather's supposed to be grand - cool/cold and sunny. Hooray!
