TRUE or FALSE: What Goes Around Comes Around ?

Yes - I was feeling full of love toward the world and everyone in it, and it just found it's way out onto the little square I was posting in, which happened to be directed at you at that moment in time.

But it also was force of habit, as I said. When I'm typing e-mails to which I add my name at the end, that's most often what I put before it.

I wish you love in your life David - yes, certainly I do. In fact I would wish that for everyone in the world as I feel it would make the world so much more pleasant to live in.

But even though you're not feeling freaked out - I am a little bit. But not about that. I feel freaked out that you feel you have to get back to me. You really don't. In fact, I hardly recognize you as the same person who started this thread - so in a lot of ways- I'm confused as to who I'm actually talking to anymore anyway, and that element of confusion makes posting less fun.
It feels forced for me, not the least because you seemed to have metamorphosized into someone or something else entirely, and that leads me to question who or what you really are or were in the first place. Do you understand what I'm saying...?

Anyway, David, I intuit that this thread has gotten to the point where it feels like something you have to do - and that isn't true. You don't. I think now is a good stopping point. You know - out with old and in with the new.
So, have a happy new year. Maybe I'll see you around (although I hardly recognize the new, kinder, gentler more politically correct David and miss the old feisty, funny 1).
But it's like one of my favorite Bruce Springsteen lines from Human Touch:
"In the end what you don't surrender
Well the world just strips away"-

Take care-with real fondness if not actual love for you as an individual (only because I don't really know you) -Rebecca

I have a sneaking suspicion
that my little play on words ruined your good day.

You really don't.

I know; kind of a First Amendment, backward, sort of.

The reason that I said I 'd get back to u,
instead of doing it THEN,
is that I got up a little late to attend
the Christmas Brunch that I hosted at
the Ambassador Grill Restaurant.

I was unsure of how ez it 'd be to park,
n did not wanna be late; ( that has happpened b4 ).

I hope that u will ELUCIDATE on that;
I 'm curious about it.

I wonder how it is that I changed ?
What is different ?

It feels forced for me,

Of course, out of both libertarianism n hedonism,
I encourage u to do, and to don 't, as u will find the most joy.

No,
but it has certainly stimulated my CURIOSITY.
I can 't help wondering what happened, of a different nature.

Whatever u prefer is good.

I have some doubts about that.
Does that mean I shud throw out
my old gold coin collection ?

So, have a happy new year.

Happy New Year !

I ' m not politically correct !

I am feisty,
when provoked by the collectivist-authoritarians.

Hence, the need of defensive gunnery !

maybe he has some left over

I 'm sorry for hurting your feelings.

That's okay. I know I can be too sensitive sometimes.

Anyhow, take care.
* Maybe I'll pm you about the other questions you had sometime. But definitely don't be a stranger. Wave and say hello to me when you see me around - or don't as your hedonistic and libertarian heart leads you to do what is most joyful for your life.

Here are the words to a song you might like- kind of my wish for you. I always think of my kids when I hear it - but there's one line in it that makes it perfect for you. It's by Mark Knopfler and performed by Emmy Lou Harris and Mark Knopfler on their album of duets called "All the Road Running".
I don't know if you like her, (Emmy Lou). I'm probably the only person on the planet I know of who doesn't really like her voice, except in harmony with certain individuals, because she has perfect pitch and can harmonize beautifully with men and women alike- I have to admit that.
But I love Mark Knopfler- his voice, his sensibilities in terms of life and music - everything about the man- as a musician anyway- and there are a handful of songs on this record that have become favorites of mine.

So here's the song: (it kind of goes along with what we were talking about and I'm feeling nostalgic as it's the end of the year and everything)

Love and Happiness (Mark Knopfler)
Here's a wishing well
Here's a penny for
Any thought it is
That makes you smile
Every diamond dream
Everything that brings
Love and happiness
To your life

Here's a rabbit's foot
Take it when you go
So you'll always know
You're safe from harm
Wear your ruby shoes
When you're far away
So you'll always stay
Home in your heart

You will always have a lucky star
That shines because of what you are
Even in the deepest dark
Because your aim is true
And if i could only have one wish
David, then it would be this
Love and happiness for you

Here's a spinning wheel
Use it once you've learned
There's a way to turn
The straw to gold
Here's a rosary
Count on every bead
With a prayer to keep
The hope you hold

You will always have a lucky star
That shines because of what you are
Even in the deepest dark
Because your aim is true
And if I could only have one wish
David, then it would be this
Love and happiness for you
And if I could only have one wish
David, then it would be this
Love and happiness for you

*Get it - "because your aim is true"? I put in the David part - I didn't want you to get all freaked out the the "darling" that Mark Knopfler had.
By the way, I was serious about that Bruce Springsteen line - and you joked about it. But that's okay David, par for the course.... (just kidding-it didn't really bother me). But I do love that song and that particular line. The other line I like in that song is: "We're all riders on this train...."
See ya around.

By the way, I was serious about that Bruce Springsteen line - and you joked about it.

It was MORE than just a joke;
it was the offering of MY alternative point of vu,
of resistence, to having what is yours stripped away--
of PREVENTING the ill effects
( " To be, or not to be; that is the question.
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to SUFFER
the slings and arrows of OUTRAGEOUS fortune,
or, by OPPOSING,
END THEM "; I hope I remembered that accurately )
rather than being DOCILE in letting the world do its stripping.

I believe in sovereignty of the INDIVIDUAL, not of the world.
The INDIVIDUAL outranks the collective.

The UNITY of life; diversity is an illusion.

Luck is, IMO, non existant. There is only chance. However, as Bill Gates said:

Don't tease nerds. You might end up working for one.

It seems to me
that luck and chance are 2 words for the same thing, Mr. Person.

Wishing good luck
is wishing that the operations of sheer chance
will turn out to the benefit and joy of those upon whom our thoughts rest.

Hey, David...
Would you kill someone if you thought you could get away with it?

Then the answer is: no,
unless that person had done something HORRIBLY Egregious
to justify the fun, e.g., the Rosenbergs.

If u r talking about some innocent stranger,
it wud be more fun to put a $100.oo bill in her unexpecting hand.
That 's fun to do to good looking chicks.

Try it and c what u think.

Okay. But why wouldn't you? You like to shoot guns, don't you? I've played video games where I got to go on shooting rampages, and I thought it kinda fun. Don't you think it would be even more fun in real life? That is, seeing as how you seem to value your own enjoyment over all else. Is someone's life worth more to you than fun? (I can't believe it.)

I wouldn't say I believe in luck. Or that somehow I could make myself "luckier" by doing certain things. However I do believe that what comes around goes around to a certain extent. If you treat people like dirt... well don't be surprised in how you get treated in return, right? It's cause and effect. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
