Now, I'm no bright-eyed optimist about upbeat campaigning in this day and age, but this just seems particularly unnecessary and low...

Why can this character get away with this?
I can't get it to load of my <expletive deleted> computer.
What does it say?
Because it's his opinion.
Re: Clinton's opponent gets unrepentantly personal
He can get away with it since it seems anything goes in todays "politics".
Regardless of how I feel about Hitlery, these statements are a reflection of a loser. Obviously, this knucklehead has no chance of defeating her and hopefully has no other political aspirations.
He's talking about how ugly she was when she met Bill and how she's had tons of "work" done and now she looks good. :-? Bleh.
What's more, the story is accompanied by pictures of her then and now and in the then picture she's a cute nerdy hippie chick -- she's got bad glasses and bad pants but who didn't circa 1975?

C'mon, McG - you know that's not what I mean. Doesn't the whole thing about communicating on a higher plane than personal insults have to start somewhere? If this is okay with you because it's his "opinion", then what would be over the line in a campaign for higher office, in your estimation?
The odd thing about the piece is that the guy seemed to be in the middle of some weird meltdown.
Hillary was ugly and when her daughter was in her teens, her rather startling unattractiveness mirrored her mother's--but the remarks only make the guy look small. Both women are brilliant-- and to stand up for gender equality, Hillary is just as corrupt as any male politician could aspire to be.
It's a political campaign, not a beauty contest. The comments were desperate and sexist.
The guy will lose by a huge margin, and he knows it. He just wants to enjoy his 15 minutes of fame...
Perhaps he was stupid enough not to realize that his remarks would not be "off the record"?
