Got about eight drops total. Lots of wind and razzmatazz though. It fits my mood. I'm trying to put together a kitchen butcherblock cart. Whatever happened to simple sturdy hardware?

We've had lots of rain since Saturday evening. Good thing. We sure needed it.

Something is eating the one eggplant plant. And the squash and zucchini are once again a bust this year. Don't know why. Some day I'll figure out what's going wrong.

Funny thing about the tomatoes this year. The Big Boy had produced three tomatoes that seemed fully grown but for almost two weeks it seemed, they wouldn't ripen. I finally pulled two of them off the vine about three days ago, to free up the energy for new growth and already, new fruit are coming in. Hopefully the unripened fruit I picked will continue to ripen on the windowsill.

My petunias are doing the busting out all over thing really nicely! I wasn't sure how the color combination would work, I like it. An emphasis on a really deep red/ burgundy petunia, with then about three different pinks, some pure red, and some deep purple. Also have hydrangeas in bloom (GORGEOUS photo, Satt!), the mopheads (pink) and oakleaf (white). I recently got a few compliments on my yard as I was working in it, first time that's happened for what was definitely MY work, very fun!

Walter, you must have reduced the image size of those pictures to the last degree, while the original images have good quality if seen in the initial size.

This is taken about a week ago, and image size has been reduced moedrately..

A shot of our garden. The geraniums are just starting to bloom. We have a couple of pots of the miniature strawberries which are really nice and sweet. That's a makeshift bird bath that you see in the middle.

And here's a wonderful shot of our neighbor's backyard.....after their kids had a party last night. If you look close, you can see the beer bottles, etc. Delightful folks.

This is actually not "my garden" but the a view - 5 minutes ago - from our 'roof terrace' to the red beech in the house's backyard

Very nice, Walter!

I had also taken a photo of the moon (one day after the quarter moon).

I have found a gem of a garden maintenance man. One of my neighbors referred me to him. Sal is a retired mail carrier. He was going nuts around his house with not enough to do to keep him occupied. He likes taking care of gardens and is very good at it. He's honest, reliable, personable, and he only charges $9 per hour. His major interest is not the money. He just enjoys being busy.

My car battery died yesterday and Sal used his car to get mine started this morning when he arrived at 8 am. He followed me to the store in case my battery failed again, waited while a new battery was installed, then started on my back yard upon returning.

I've been so lucky in finding real gems among the people who help me maintain my home and property.

I think I can finally get the image thingy to work. And I developed film so - wish me luck. Anyway- for my first year- I think its not so bad. I am sure I will have to test things out.

I have two tomatoes growing already - one Roma & one of either Big Boy or I think the other type is Big Beef. Lots of blooms too so, I cant wait for tomato sandwiches!

Blueberries are coming along wonderfully- I am enjoying about three a day right off the bush at this point

Side yard - the hydrangia is in full bloom now- great blue color. The Rose has started to climb the trellis.

This is the out the back door shot - with the boat hanging over on the top right--finally the boat is gone so, I can have some room and better shots of things even maybe. Along the fence I tried to grow Sweet Pea but, its just not doing well. The Clematis isn't having all that much luck back there either. This is the only shot I got of the Iris- rain for weeks after so- they're gone but, next year will be better anyway.

Morning Glories have gone wild....and starting to bloom so, those will be fabulous. And the Impatients I put along the border are starting to fill out too.

eastern lake ontario :
wonderful weather for lawn and all plants : warm but not overly hot , rain every few days .
raspberries and currants in abundance and very sweet . mrs h has been picking berries several days - great with a little icecream and tea in the afternoon .
have to start picking currants in earnest tomorrow - a little vanilla sugar and cointreau poured over it , let sit overnight , EAT !
