NO NO NO Don't echi please! I appreciate the concern but really, it's under control. I emailed them about a month ago and was given the same answer I've been given since the beginning. My privileges have been suspended indefinitely. Period. It has been made very clear to me that they will make the decision if that privilege will ever be extended to me. It's their decision not ours and I am afraid that if someone else were to mention it I could kiss my membership here goodbye as well. That would break my heart. PM privileges are not worth losing my membership here over. They are a convenience, but something I can live without most certainly.

I'll tell you what though, I would rather talk about the other stuff in private so if you want to you can PM me your email address and I'll email you. We can talk about it that way instead of starting a new thread. If not though that's ok too and I can start a thread. Though it's getting late now and I have to go to bed because I am working 14 hrs tomorrow between two of my jobs. So, if that's the route you want to go I'll have to wait until friday to start a thread because I'm doing 14 hr days until then and I like to participate in the threads I start... which I won't have time to until then. Heh... did you get all that? LOL Alrighty... I'll talk to you soon. Smile

My pm privileges were suspended, too. I don't actually miss it that much, but I'm a little burned about the way it happened. Someone instigated a fight with me by PMing me, and when I blew up and cursed him out, he sent it to the mods.
And they allow me to receive, but not send. I'd rather they just turned it off entirely.

Some people (that would be snood) may forget SEVERAL attacking emails to a host of members. The mods would have to be crazy not to see that some people cannot use acceptable judgment re PMs.

I am unaware of Heph's issue.

I lost my avatar privileges because one questionable use.

(And, it was worth it!!) Very Happy

Yeah I understand snood. I was really angry at first. I felt it was a complete injustice. Then they said I would get them sometime, though that time was "yet to be determined." That gave me hope. After I hit 2000 posts I emailed and asked and if maybe they had forgotten about me. Nope they hadn't, and unless I misunderstood the email, I was basically told I should be grateful to still be here. I was so mad that I backed off from here for a few weeks. Then I realized how incredibly silly it all was, and how incredibly silly I was being for letting it bug me that much. And most importantly that they were right. I should be grateful for being here because they could have just as easily suspended me indefinetly. So I, for once, actually dropped it completely and don't care anymore about PM privs. I'm open to anyone is emailing me if it's that important. Other than that though, I'm still here and I'm glad. Smile

Echi, I can receive PM's. Smile

Though sometimes it takes me a while to notice because I turned off all the pop up reminder, whatever, stuff that had to do with them. Cool

Lash, so long as you continue to direct negative comments toward me, you and I can never get along. I think you try to ignore me, but you just can't stand it for long before you send one over my bow. Does it really matter who said what to who all those months ago? I am not going to go through the whole thing of trying to defend or sort through who said what to who the most.

When I got banned, I had stopped sending any PMs to anyone - I answered Setanta because he Pmed me some stuff I thought nasty, and I stupidly took the bait.

I've read a lot of your posts, and I have slowly come to have some respect for your mind. You and I have much in common - we are about the same age - both have had less than wonderful marriages - both are pursuing higher education in the second half of life. I really, really wish that we could find a way to stop having our exchanges be characterized by all this undercurrent of really ugly stuff.

Don't you ever get tired of it?

Lash, as much fun as I think that would be to try, I don't think it would get either of us very far. Razz

We both committed a similar crime. We broke the rules. Mine was inflating my post count to try and get PM privs sooner. If there's one thing I've learned through the process of this it is that the mods take their jobs and the rules pretty serious.

However, that is not a bad thing. I honestly believe it is what sets A2K apart from other internet forums. They are fair and consistent in enforcing the rules. They don't play favorites, and they don't bend. I've never seen one of them flaunt their power in any way. The boundaries are clear and concise, and everyone is expected to remain within them. Period. I respect that because I realize now that it works for everyone's benefit in the long run.

Though our jail cells are close enough that we could play a few games of cards while we wait to be released. Very Happy
