News today had it that you can buy renovated 747s that are styled to your taste. The plane will be assembled on a platform at a place of your chosing. Plane and assembly runs just under 300,000 bucks. Now, that's using your noggin......

That's a really big plane. Maybe you could throw plastic over the wings for rainy days. Parking could be a problem if you drive it downtown.

I don't like the thought of the maintenance costs, even for a static 747...though it would provide plenty of space for a party!

Plenty of seating...although the leg room would differ upon model wouldnt it?
And hey, you could convert upper compartments to upper 'births' like on trains and have plenty of guest space....although my thoughts go to WOW...thatd be cool library space
Im not all that excited about the lavatories though...although mroe than one is helpful at times.

How much for a double-wide?

Can I still invite my friends over to 'crash'?

Does it come with jet engines, so I don't have to rake leaves in the fall?

Do I have to wait in line for 2 hours and go through a metal detector everytime I come home from work?

They're renovated! One had a spiral staircase up through the landing gear bay, a bedroom at each end (the bedroom in the nose kept some of the original cockpit) and a hottub on the roof deck!

Are you SURE this wasn't a dream??? Anyway,
just imagine the pilot's salary and the fuel bills
for that big baby?? Rolling Eyes Quite the status
symbol to have your own jet though, isn't it?
I just finished John Grishams latest book, The King
of Torts - where he gets to start a new law office, and
he's suddenly making $$$$$ millions, so naturally he
begins to spend like the total idiot. He loses it all in the
end but can't say he didn't have a real good time while
it lasted.

Not airborne? Then how are they to get it to me? Tow it down the highway behind an 18-wheeler? That'll cause a few accidents!
