Sorry I know no Chinese but perhaps you can understand the inverse proverb "Empty vessels make the most noise"...meaning those with nothing in their heads talk the most....it follows that a wise person is one who has learned to keep his mouth closed.
"Those with brain, know how to keep mouth in neutral,
Those without brain, don't know how to keep mouth out of gear"!
thank you for your help!!!!!!!!
thank you for your help!!!!!!!!
i can get the picture!
Was it Mark Twain who said.....
"Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt"?
A wise and smart person doesn't talk and gossip too much. They keep to themselves, while a stupid fool blabs and talks too much. So that means that a wise head (or we can say mind) knows not to speak too much, so smart people keep their mouths shut.
hi!loveislikearose3
thank you !
you let me further understand this meaning of this sentence ecactly.
you are warm -hearted
Blownfang--
"Warm hearted" means kind and loving. In contrast, a cold-hearted person thinks of himself first--and perhaps thinks only of himself.
noddy24!
did you mean that "warm-hearted "is wrong.
"warm heart " is right?
i know the true meaning of "warm hearted"
thank you !
ahhhhhhrgggggg
I'll just get some breakfast!!

I also from China, i don't know wether can use the "Speech is silve;silence is golden." to explain it. I think our forum cannot type in Chinese word, Chen Mo Shi Jin means silence is golden. or you can translate directly as zhi zhe bu yu
