Human grooming has been rediscovered, try it

Hi to all,
Here's a short grooming guide for beginners

First grooming experience
-Slide your nail along the lines in the palm of your hand.
-Pass repeatedly over the same fold while putting pressure.
-Don't hurt yourself, but stay just below the pain threshold.
http://www.daniellaberge.net/grooming/graphics/palmgrooming1.jpg
-Go slowly, try to open the fold.
-Take time to stop and explore the deepest crevasses, digging as you go.
-If a fold becomes irritated, groom another.

Feeling unpain
-As you go, appreciate the sensations coming from your skin.
-Notice that when your nail reaches the deepest pockets of the fold, a pleasurable feeling appears.
-That's unpain, that's your guide.

Fold crossings
-Visually inspect the fold you're working on.
-Observe where other folds intersect with it.
-These are fold crossings.
-Spot the biggest crossing you can find and put your nail into it.
-Slowly dig and open the cavern.
-You should feel lots of unpain, its source being in the deepest sections of the crossing.
-Follow the fold to the next crossing and groom it. Repeat.
-Generally, you should groom the crossings ten times longer than the rest of the fold.

Going blind
-Try following a fold with your nail without looking.
-As you go, feel each crossing you meet and the unpain you get from it.
-This is the normal way to groom: without looking.

Unfolding
-Actively work your nail at the bottom of the fold, doing the necessary moves to unfold it.
-You can stay several minutes at the same spot.

Workspace tension
-As you groom, try opening and closing your hand.
-Observe the difference on your grooming performance.
-When grooming elsewhere, you often have to use your second hand to stabilize the workspace or to act as a counter force to your grooming hand, squeezing the skin.

Grooming everywhere
-Your newly acquired skills can now be transposed anywhere on your body.
-However, your skin will tell you where to groom it through itching and pain.

Good grooming.

What the hell!?

This is the goofiest thing I've ever read.

Now, of course, I have some ungodly urge to try it.

If I don't find Nirvana or something I'm gonna kick the crap out of you, Daniel, for wasting my time.

Oh.

And welcome to A2K! Very Happy

well, I've never done it exactly the way daniel describes...but yes closely paying attention to certain areas, such as the feet, joints, tendons etc can be very relaxing.

rubbing areas of the feet, like between the toes, and GENTLY bending the toes in different directions really feels good....it releases all sorts of tension and can make you feel all floaty.

ok now, I don't mean this in a masturbation/dirty/freaky way, but it also feels good to massage the area, for intance under the breast, and the tissue connecting the breast to the underarm. I'm a clean freak, but I was surprised how I was rubbing up dead skin cells.

It feels good to groom all different areas of your body, in a non-sexual way.

oh! Rubbing a scratching your eyebrows, a little area at a time....what a rush! Rubbing the crevices in the lines of your forhead...really, that's a bit of skin never really touched. And the sides of your nose that flair out, above the nostrils.

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel strangely aroused?

I feel normally aroused...

Or, rather, I normally feel aroused.

Wait, is that right?

Normally, I feel aroused. Yes, I mustn't split the infinitive.

Feel better?

I salute all humans.
I am pleased to announce the rediscovery of grooming for humans.
My name is Daniel Laberge.
I'm fifty three years old.
I have been grooming, over six hours a day, for the last three and a half years.
So I'm proud to present the first human face with close to normal, healthy skin.

ooh, normal

that sounds normal

I'm not sure what you're getting at Confused

I had to reread to make sure, but no one said anything about digging at your skin/body until it bleeds.

You never massaged your own hands, manipulating the fingers, palms, cuticles to release tension and produce good feelings?

Or all kinds of other parts of your own body?

applying pressure to areas of your knees, ankles, elbows is great.

oh, and the area behind the ears, and the curls in the shells of the ears.

wow.

I followed the link within the graphic posted by the initial poster.

A little OCD goes a long way.

His post is a sorta introduction to self-mutilation. It can be called grooming in some circles.

Six hours a day? This, I think, is one sick puppy. I don't even spend that much time on A2K.

Here's the actual link.

Edit: Moderator: Link removed

The site doesn't say anywhere that you're supposed to pick at your skin until it bleeds.

In fact it pretty much says if you're doing it incorrectly or in the wrong place, you could bleed....and then you should stop what you're doing immediately.

I don't know a thing in the world about Mr. Laberge, but reading the material there and watching the 2 minute video didn't lead me to the sure conclusion he has OBS.

Would I do this 6 hours a day? No.

Is it something that can be done while relaxing, reading, watching TV, whatever?....sure.

Might I consider Mr. Laberge eccentric if I met him? Perhaps I would. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't mind talking to him as much as someone who stands around smoking cigarettes eating junk food and talking about the latest episode of some stupid TV show. Many people spend more than 6 hours a day doing just that.

I'm reserving judgement as to the effectiveness I this grooming since I don't know any more than what I saw. However, I will say what he's trying to say is much more helpful than harmful.

Plus, if someone, anyone has OBS, that doesn't make them a crackpot.

I'd like others opinions of that site.

Some (most) days, I just don't get it. What's OCD and OBS?

True I'm in love with you but
you might decide I'm a nut
Give me a week or two to
go absolutley cuckoo
then, when you see your error,
then, you can flee in terror
like everybody else does
I only tell you this cause
I'm easy to get rid of
but not if you fall in love
Know now that I'm on the make
and if you make a mistake
my heart will certainly break
I'll have to jump in a lake
and all my friends will blame you
There's no telling what they'll do
It's only fair to tell you
I'm absolutely cuckoo

You people have entirely too much access to Ecstasy and clearly too much time on your hands!

Or palms, as the case may be!
