how did religious leaders, such as the pope, got the point where they fought wars, extorted money and threw lavish parties? is it hypocrisy, human nature, corruption, or smoething else. this is Opion but needs to be well argued

Specifically, pick up a copy of The March of Folly, by Barbara Tuchmann. There you will find the best short version explanation of the Papal Schism and the Renaissance Popes, whose abuses lead to the Protestant Reformation.
