is that where that excruciating yodelling wailling bloody song comes from?
I've never heard it all the way through because I cant stand it. First few bars are enough, before i have to silence it by any[/i] means. Not excluding criminal damage to audio equipment.
Quote:I'm the only person in the world who hated that film
No you're not.
Far from it.
If you really think so, you must associate with the worst sorts of people.
What did you dislike so much about Titanic smorgsy?
The French call the dandelion pis-en-lit and the Scots call it pee-the-bed so what are we to make of that?
Perhaps we should give it to the dog with the watery ejaculate.
By the way, in Dundee last week I went to see the film Children of Men and it's weird. Well made, and quite arty in its way, but weird.
I'd recommend you give it a miss.
Pissenlit (one word) is called dent-de-lion as well which means the same as the German Löwenzahn (teeth of lion)
If you successfully graft a dandelion onto a yellow rose, you can obtain a rose which looks like a lions head, complete with a dandelion type mane, very impressive!
Mathos, are you saying you can graft a dandelion onto a rose?
I think you have been at the dandelion & burdock again.

John Smith's smooth is their tipple..
Steve-
Mathos wouldn't spout all that drivel if he drank John Smith's Extra Smooth. It has a calming effect as you can see from my fragrant prose.

Ahhhh wonderful. Can smell it from here
I've just been north of the border, sampling Deuchar's and McEwan's 80/- Ale. Very nice too.
It's not a bad pint at all lads, can't dispute that!
The real Mcoy though, a pint of Chesters or Boddingtons..
Spendi couldn't handle either, they come under the heading 'Men Only'
Hi Mac, give me a reminder next spring, I'll show you how its done!

I drank Boddie's every night of the week for ten years. It is very nice when properly kept.
You're catching assertivitis Mathos. It's a nasty condition I can assure you. The complications are horrendous.
Stop crying Spendi, you sound like Ossobuco one thread down!
He's going to take his ball indoors if we don't stop jumping on his thread!
You kept your trap shut regarding Chesters mate! Can't hack that can you lad?
What about Old Speckled Hen, a couple of pints of that would have you clucking and quacking with an edge of diplomacy in your meanderings.
Its bloody raining cats and dogs here mate, hows your side of the Pennines?
Mathos-
I think osso is a lady. That's why I put my kid gloves on when I post anything she might read.
Beer is a device for the intravenous intake of alcohol. The only factors of importance are the alcohol % and the price.
I don't know about Chester's I'll admit but John Smith's and Boddie's are more or less identical in those regards. If Chester's is stronger it will be dearer because the price is based on alcohol content which is what is taxed.
I leave the finnicky taste bud stuff and the status advertising to the ladies who are more discerning than myself. I'm a wanker not a tart.
Un wankeur
you read it here first.

Brewers' ales rated as 70/- and 80/- are just using old terminology, like IPA for example. Maybe it's an old recipe. Anyway, it costs the same as your English bitter.
