Dag, I'm trying to get to Prague, otherwise I'd be glad to see you at the airport, if it was Manchester Airport.
Heathrow at Christmas? Er....perhaps I'll give it a miss, this time.

McT, coming to Prague? Do let me know when and I'd be delighted to meet you for a beer and/or point you in the direction of my preferred sights, restaurants and bars.

Meanwhile, feeling glad that he'd not wasted his money on the nags, McT decides to check his Lotto numbers.....

We were actually trying to be in Prague at Crimbo. We had a deal we were trying to get on, left it too late to book, and now are on a waiting list. It could still happen, but I dunno.

I expect you'll be a bit nearer home then.

McTag, maybe you'll meet KP at Prague airport if he's leaving as you arrive.

Right, we're heading out of Dodge this morning, and heading for Splodge, er I mean Chelmsford. I may be gone some time.

OOH! Are you setting out from Steve's place? (lost track of your itinerary)...if so..... You'll experience the wonders of the rush hour on the M25, then even heavier traffic on the A12, and all in this sh*tty horrible drizzle we've got this morning.

What joy!!

Have a good time, McT, Steve(?) and anyone else who may be making full use of their logjam time, counting the burnt out cars abandoned on each side of the carriageway.

McT, you may be right - I am heading to London on 22 Dec and will only fly back on 1 Jan, when I'm heading straight to the alps for 5 days skiing. Really looking forward to that. Very Happy

I had a car stolen last night - pool car from work which I have used when it wasn't needed by the team for jobs. Parked on the street outside the building where my flat is last night...no sign of it this morning. Shocked

2 hours with the Prague police seemed like a lifetime and, I have to say, was an eye-opener. If any of you saw "Life on Mars" (copper "transported" back from 2005 to 1973 and has to work with the police force then) it was a bit like that, in comparison with the UK. Rolling Eyes

Very much more impressed with Paddington Green police station last time I was the victim of crime (jacket stolen in a bar with glasses, etc. in the pocket...so worth an insurance claim).

"Maybe it's because I'm a Lahndaner...that I love Laaahnan Taahn"

Lord E - "what do you think of Tottenham?"

I think, Tottenham Hale rail station was really not very nice the last times I've seen it - might be, they improved it, I can watch that during the next couple of days.

Oooh, you referred to the Spurs? They are still in Premiership, right?

And of course I'm sorry to hear that about your police-experiences (supposing that your company can take the loss of a car).

Yes, not my financial loss. All insured through the company but still a bit of a shock to be "responsible" for the loss.

Commiserations re your bad event Pete!

Well thats my horse betting stint for a few years!

Had a nice meal at the Whipping Stocks. Saw Jodrel bank up close and a few cows who didn't have a great deal to say.

There was a talking sheep in the field, told me His Lordship had been around them parts once or twice, in his wellies.

I won't upset the ladies with the detailed account she orated with a bar.
Spendi has been very rude towards Dutchy on the trivia threads. I ask you, is that guy sane?

I'm sure he has cockney blood in him as well as Yorkshire.

They let me use this computer here.

Interesting journey down....we were in traffic accident on the M11, a four-vehicle shunt. Luckily I was the last one and no-one hit me. Also, I managed to kill most of my speed before the impact, and the front of our car does not (as far as I can see in the dark) seem to be damaged at all.

Not my fault, guv. But her indoors said I was driving too fast, and too close. I blame the drizzle, greasy road, and the daft bugger two in front who had the first shunt.

Walter, please note, drizzle, weather forecast not very good.

Have a good weekend, all- Chinese takeaway this evening, hooray.

Duchy impulsively put 2 and 2 together to get 3 and when I pointed it out to him he took the 'ump and started throwing out childish insults.

What am I supposed to do about that? I'm used to it anyway.

SPENDI

It's the manner and script you chose to point it out to him, it wasn't very nice at all Spendi.

You never hear a wrong word from Dutchy and he keeps those threads going mate, you were bang out of order.

Hoping you have the decency to apologise to him is simply expecting too much from you, but you owe him one.

Your behaving like a spoiled bloody kid of late, settle down and be sensible. You can have plenty of crack on here without going overboard and being abusive with the levels of venom you have been exercising.

Mac

Sorry to hear about your accident, but sincerely glad to know you and yours are safe.

They can be hell to have a smash on, I was involved in an extremely nasty one on the M6 many, many years ago, had a blow out and went under the tail end of an articulated vehicle. Turned over, hit by several other vehicles whilst upside down, my dad was in passenger seat, he broke his leg and had some pretty bad internal injuries. They patched him up at Altrincham Hospital, he was in for about 3 months. Leg was about one and a half inches shorter than the other after and he had to use a stick for rest of his life. I only had cuts and bruises, torn clothes etc. Glad to get out alive, I'll tell you. I also did Motorway accident recovery for a few years, day and night, not nice at all.

Heavy winds up to 70mph forecast for tomorrow night plus heavy rain.

So sorry to hear about your accident, McT. Your wife sounds very much like my late mum. Dad always said she'd be a good witness for the prosecution.

Main thing is that you're both okay although I imagine you'll remember it for a long time.

KP, bad luck too about the car. A nasty experience.
