Evolution of Greek Pederasty

I was reading the article on wikipedia and came across this short paragraph:

Quote:

Greek pederasty went through a series of changes over the millennium from its entry into the historical record and its final demise as an official institution. In some areas, such as Athens, the construction of the relationship seems to have gone from greater modesty in the early days to a freer physicality and lack of restraint in classical times, followed by a return to a more spiritual form in the early fifth century. Its formal end resembled its beginning, in that it came by official decree - that of emperor Justinian, who also put an end to other institutions that sustained ancient culture, such as Plato's Academy and the Olympic Games.

Is anyone familiar with this subject and where i might find more information on it? Not just pederasty in general, but with specific regards to its evolution. I know there was a great deal of moral uncertainty at the time regarding pederasty, and im curious to see how it all played out since there seem to be a lot of similarities with todays attitudes towards sexual orientation.

Try this for a start. I'm sure there others who can provide more information but this is a good starting point.

This is a good example of how morals change through the ages. One has to ask is there any such thing as absolute morals that hold true for all ages and cultures.

As I understand it from a course on Plato, there was no "moral uncertainty"...just the opposite. In ancient Greece woman were generally considered of inferior status to men for all forms of social relationship. The exception was for the occasional case of the female "sage" or "oracle" but she would still remain aloof by virtue of her "unusual superiority".
