Persian is a great language of arts and poems its the main language in the central asian countries like iran, afganistan, tadjikistan .
with a huge litrature background ,its a basic gateway to better undrestanding of these people.
I know a little Farsi...

I used to live in Tabriz, but have visited many places, my favourite was Shiraz.
