It's a good thing that -- for now, at least -- the Finnish influence on haute couture is negligible.

I'm on page 10 or so. Really great, inventive stuff.

I'm always more impressed by personality + creativity than the whole "well put together" polished thing, especially if that is just about recreating a whole look (like all from one designer).

I love how much sewing comes up -- I just read one where a guy said he had to clean the house for a month before his mom agreed to sew some specific trousers for him. Heh!!

Isn't that the truth!

Actually, that's one impressive looking lady. She has style in how she wears those clothes and real character in her face. Impressive.

"I'm visiting Finland because I had a photography exhibition at Lapua. I live in Otsego County but I'm of Finnish descent. The gentlemen's stetson is my umbrella. My friend Ulla-Maija gave me the poncho. The dress is self made years ago. The black elastic stockings are good for travelling. These traditional Finnish shoes were the only pair that do not hurt my feet."
