Wow! That sounds like a tough situation.
Not tough for me, Montana! I can assure you! It's actually quite funny because I get to listen to my best girlfriend and then I get to listen to my ex ~ whom I also consider my best friend.
The hard part is keeping my mouth shut at the right time!
What makes things really, really interesting is that the ex broke up (technically) with my best friend, started dating another woman, moved her into his house ~ and that's when things hit the fan.
Only because of my son. A#1 son also calls my best friend 'Mom' and I'm more than okay with that because she loves him to pieces. And he loves her, too.
And the ex continued to see my best friend during all this time ~ about eight months total.
It's been interesting, to say the least.

Some of my post is missing ~ the eight month time period involved the ex having another girlfriend......moved her into his house, too. Yet, he continued to see my best friend. Sorry for the confusion.
