Wowsers. That's some X, djjd.
Poetic Justice by John Allemang -- poet/columnist for the Globe & Mail newspaper, Saturday, August 5, 2006 edition:
The Parable of Mel
And Jesus said: "Don't think it wise,
When traffic cops inspect your eyes
For signs that you're impaired by booze,
To blame your troubles on the Jews.
A certain man of Malibu,
Who'd clearly had a drink or two,
Instead of acting mild and meek
Became the right-wing Jesus freak
Who turns his Christian-soldier sword
On those who don't think Christ's the Lord.
"His words were vile. And then came worse:
He tried to blame tequila's curse
For all the demons in his brain
That drove him instantly insane,
And promised he'd do all it took
To get back in the Jews' good book:
'I'll say that Auschwitz was no hoax,
And never make priest/rabbi jokes,
Provided you don't crucify
A poor soul nailed for DUI.'
"Humility and sacrifice
Might help a sinner seem more nice,
But God demands a higher cost
Than lessons in the Holocaust --
For pious Pharisees like Mel,
The hot tequila bar of hell.
His films may quote from Holy Writ,
But life unmasks the hypocrite
Who cries for mercy from rehab --
Next time, shut up and take a cab."
No matter what I do, I don't see nuthin.
