Apparently a major shipment of rockets for Hezbollah came into the Beirut airport shortly before the present conflagration and was stamped by the Lebanese government, making a serious dent in how sorry anybody could feel for them.
I noticed the following commentary:

Quote:
.....Lebanon did none of these things, however. And while it is not overtly supporting Hezbollah's cause, at least at this point, its apathy amounts to much the same thing. The refusal of the Lebanese government to assist in the destruction of Hezbollah within its borders endangers more civilian lives and guarantees the further devastation of public infrastructure, including transportation and communications systems. It shows the Lebanese people that this is not a government that can protect them and it shows the world that this is not a government that is committed to peace and democracy......
Israelis aren't stupid, they knew everything Hezbollah have been doing was approved by the Lebanese/Syrian gov't.
That's why they had a plan of action such as the one now in motion.
All this will happen again and again as long as the tentacles of Syria and Iran are being dealt with and not Syria and Iran themselves.
Syria says they will 'dialogue' now about it....that's bullcrap, they don't need to dialogue except to tell their boys in Lebanon to stop firing rockets....90 more rockets landed in Israel yesterday.
The poor people of Lebanon need help...some body other than Hezbollah needs to step in with a welfare system to help them instead of Hezbollah who uses those means as a recruiting tool, that's where they garner most of their support.
YOu got it. The regimes in Syria and Iran need to be taken down, along with hezbollah.
