You're going to have to endeavor to make a LOT more sense before you pull off that 'smug' thing, newbie.

You made an assersion. You are the one who should provide specifics to backup your claim.

Are you Frank's little helper?

Well then:

"1. If any god existed there would be no need to prove otherwise."

Save him tomorrow's trouble when we'll really have a go at it.

You are obviously new and ill informed. To assume that I am "Frank's helper" is like assuming that you are God's messenger.

You said it. There is no need to prove otherwise. I guess this thread is done then.

It amuses me how the theists in this thread have latched onto the absurd line of reasoning 'if you are saying god is dead you are saying he must have lived'
Go read some Neitzche you ignorant heathens.

That's right; I'm new, that's why I'm asking.

I'm still waiting though for a reply to the argument; I can see so far that ad hominem is a much favored sport around here.

Of course it is. We gotta razz ya a little to see what you are made of... (well, I don't usually) You'd be surprised how many come in here parading around just like you did and leave crying...

Very well pops; when you come back we'll start by sorting out which god is it that we're talking about here... there are so many...

1 - You may want to take a look at using the quote function.

2 - You started this thread by referring to God. Are you now asserting that you have changed your original purpose of the thread? Are you now suggesting that multiple Gods are dead?

3 - Could you pass the popcorn, hephzibah?

Yeah; I have no choice. I proposed that god was dead but Frank wants to get into specifics so we'll have to start by discovering his personal concept of god; that is, if I really want to kill all his yearning for emotional crutches.

Could your assertion that God is dead be somehow filling a yearning for an emotional 'crutch' of your own?

Is that possible? Are you without emotional crutches of any kind?

Oh I see!!

This is the "new guy" treatment then...

Funny; I've actually sensed more than one "local" already holding back his tears. Very Happy

You mean the kind that would relate to this forum?

I'm an atheist; does that answer your question?

No, this is not the new guy treatment. At least not by me. However, it is usually somewhat of a courtesy for a new guy to wade in rather than jump in with both feet and then whine when the water is too cold or too deep.

We are just waiting for you to back up your claims and to, otherwise, make some sense. Let me be one of the first to actually extend a welcome.

It is quickly becoming obvious to me that you have only come hear to cause your own brand of crap. You even alluded to that when you mentioned other forums. Your childishness is quickly becoming boring. Plus, you have not provided evidence of one claim that you have made on any thread that I have read.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.

Haven't we all?

You seem fixed on "claims" when I've actually asked more questions than stated arguments. That's actually very amusing you know? Sometimes questions have a much more disturbing effect...

Your "claim" is God is dead.

Your question from your first post is
Quote:
How come so many haven't noticed?

You have received several answers which you either ignore or post things of no substance.

You ask why so many haven't noticed. You received answers. Exactly what are you looking for?

P.S. - I see that you have finally found the quote function. It is, however, bad manners to add your own caps to somebody else's post.

You may be onto something so I'll ask you again.

Could your assertion that God is dead be somehow filling a yearning for an emotional 'crutch' of your own?

Is that possible? Are you without emotional crutches of any kind?
