Cause those that "believe" know he is'nt and those that "believe" as you do...... DO. Now give us your fact's to prove your right.

"Prove"?

Last time I read it was up to those who claimed its existence to produce the evidence...

I don't believe in santa claus either... do you need "proof" of that too?

I didn't even know he was born...

What happened to him, was it an accident?

The names Nietzsche, Darwin and Galileo have been considered.

You 'self ruled' claimed the existence or at least the a prior existence of God when you said he was dead.

Your right.....you must produce the evidence according to your own standard. That is according to what YOU read.

The Santa Claus tale has a foundation in historical fact. Whether you believe this or not is of no consequence.

I saved your Santa tombstone. Quite a hoot. Thanks.

Any one looking at the condition of the world today would be justified in wondering whether there ever was a god or if he, in fact, died

I wonder if God has given us an answer to that.

Sorry, you can't come back from the grave to settle past disputes; that's the purpose of a war, to annihilate your adversary... are you saying monarchies still have a chance? Very Happy

Good all saint Nick was some kind of historical figure right? maybe he even went from house to house bringing goodies to expecting children around an specific and limited area; from this tale it grew totally out of proportion the myth that he could do this all over the world in one single night even after he had died.

Following the same argument no one could dispute that there were from time to time charismatic men followed by desperate souls yearning for a kind word (which is something seen in our own day) who as time went by grew into mythical proportions; that is, it came to be believed that they could do this even after they had died all the time over a much extended geographic area.

Children though are eventually told that Santa is dead; which kind of shocks them at first; some might even cry (see above) but eventually they get over it; they mature. Mankind too has been told the gods are dead; they've been shocked and cried sadly as well, (see your own post  ) but don't worry; you'll eventually get over it too.

Mankind will mature too... whether you believe this or not is of no consequence. Very Happy

We are telling mythical stories to kids re Santa.
Isnt saying to an adult that there is God, the same as telling a kid there is a Santa.
Santa was a physical being, God (as far as Im aware) isnt.

No disrespect intended , Im not looking for a fight, just answers.

Hello MG; right!

God is the continuation of the santa myth; I guess some people can't get over the letter-writing and the "cookie" offerings... Sad

I would have retitled the thread something like "Why do people believe in this Santa-like myth" rather than God is dead.

By calling it this you do seem to have put yourself in a position where you at least admit that something called God has existed.
