We stayed in Oaxaca, some time at the beach and some time in the Sierra. As usual the time was just too short.
This is the view from our cabana.
It is rain season right now and the rainforest was green, full of flowers.

Beth,
we stayed also some days in Oaxaca City. Too bad we didn't know about the hotel. So we just picked one when we arrived.

Dan,
it really was fun to meet the children. When they came to the cabana they were all dressed in their Sunday's best. They and we were kind of excited- how to communicate? I don't speak Spanish. At first the man who takes care of them in Mexico ( the owner of the cabanas) translated, later we used body language and a dictionary. They had great fun to teach me.

This is the house where A., a very bright student and a lovable girl, lives with her mother and her 11 siblings. She is so far the only one who is really literate.

When we arrived she was just doing the dishes.
Her dream is to become a teacher.
