I have been reminded of a situation.

Years ago I was with some friends and a small group of slightly drunk guys kind of latched onto our group.
We all got chatting, one of the drunk guys, who i may have said about 1 sentance to, said to me soemthing like 'your a bit of alright......but you know that dont you'.

I learnt along time ago that I am not Gods gift to man and I dont think I act as tho I am.

I just wonder what the point was of comments like this to women?
What do they think it will achieve?

He got his (twig and )berries out and made the veins stick out so it looked like a road atlas.

so like he took the pony out of the corral and waved it around at you?

wow....gross....why'd he do that? Is that like a common thing to someone to do over there?

was this right after he finished saying that?

I think he was just snockered.

Erm, it was a while ago, I think it was afterward the insult.I have to say his bits wernt directed at me, he was letting everyone have a look.

Have to admit guys do tend to get their bits out over here, especially if drunk.
I can think of 3 guys who have got their tackle out in the same loaction.

Not so directly but guys still put me down and make me feel the size of a grape.

That was my original answer but thinking about it i dont really socialise with nasty guys anymore, plus i dont get to meet new guys so I have to admit I dont get nasty comments anymore!!
Just goes to show how sh*tty comments from the past can last a lifetime.

Its always been a question Ive wanted to ask but never knew who to discuss it with.If it happens again I now have the balls to ask directly why a guy would say it.

thinking....

the "ususal" response would be that whoever is saying something like this feels inferior himself, and all that blah blah blah....

In truth though, I think things are said, especially when drinking, without a thought in the world as to what is coming out of their mouths.

Sometimes when stuff is said, in order to understand the "why" you'd need a year or more to examine every pychological aspect of that person. Which obviously can't be done when a remark is made just in passing.

Sitting here having my first cup of coffee, so I might sound like an idiot or a genius Confused ....But it seems like some of the things a relative stranger says can be viewed as brief bursts of static in the show of life....might be some coded message from Jesus or aliens in the static....but from an immediate point of view, just meaningless crackle.

I know what you mean mg...something will happen that will bring up a memory of something from years, decades ago. The object for me is to deal with the memory through who I am today.

Does that make sense?

Yes it does, your a genius!!

I realised a few years back that yuo can either analize something to death or just say f*ck it.
People say odd things.I have to admit Ive said stuff I didnt even think about.
It also dawned on me recently that I say stuff and others interpret it in the completely opposite way to which I meant it, therfore people have odd opinions of me based on their interpretations.

We are all different, just some are more different than others.

Hope your enjoying your coffee.I gave up coffee a while back, sometimes I think its the reason why Im so dopey.

Only if you let them. If you let people intimidate you, they will.
