"The Midwest is too vanilla for me."

Boring. Uninteresting. Safe.

Imagine standing at an ice cream store that lists say 50 flavors. If you choose vanilla -- and DON'T choose all of those other wild and wacky flavors that are available -- you're making the boring, safe, uninteresting choice.
