A job is what you do to earn a living on a day-to-day basis. If you have a specialized job which you fully intend to do for most of your working life, that is your career. Work is a general term for any remunirative activity. You go to work to do your job, and if you intend to continue doing that sort of work, it becomes your career.

I agree with MA. In addition, job and work have other meanings besides that which one makes a living.

"I have to paint my house by myself. It is going to be a big job, and a lot of work".

Sometimes the word career is used in a sarcastic manner:

"She makes a career of meddling in everyone else's business".
