didn't know the ones francis mentioned, though i suspected they were depicted on currency.

besides Sir Winston, Dr. King, Gen. Powell, and Pres. Truman, i recognize Cesar Chavez, Mikhail Gorbachev, perhaps U.S. Grant, and maybe G.B. Shaw.

Sure seems it's Juarez. See the following hyperlink:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benito_Juarez

...but how does that answer the question posed?

If you look back on the thread, Ragman, I'd hypothesized that #9 is someone from Mexican history. I wasn't able to see the two photos together and couldn't make up my mind.

USA VP mebbe?
It's a tough thing to research 'cause it's not like you can use the photo and search with it like you can a phrase or name. I'm using Wikipedia as a resource and searching the portraits of the VP of USA to see if it matches.

20 looks like Carnegie and 7 could be Rosa Parks? (am afraid I haven't got the foggiest idea about 8, 9 and 11)
