I am a freshman of the English majors. When I am a junior student,I will choose one of the three directions:English literature, translation and business English.I think I want to learn translation, but someone told me it's difficult. So I want to know how to translate a difficult sentence well?
There is no easy way to do it. To be a good translator, you have to know both languages very well--especially the idioms, since those are the expressions that tend not to translate very well. An idiom in one language will rarely make sense when literally translated into another, so you have to be know which idioms in the second language might be a plausible substitute.
