excuse me ,but could you tell me the meaning of the phrase "thunder and lighting" thank you

The phrase is "thunder and lightning" (note the spelling), and it has a few metaphorical uses but literally it refers to this natural phenomenon:

Lightning is the actual flash of electricity you see. Thunder is the rumbling sound that follows it.
