In the sentence,"Having worked as a teacher, a translator and an education official in Macao ,Lei took his current post in 1999," can we simply use one "a"? i was told if one person carries several titles , we can simply use one "a",Am i right ?

Yes, you are correct--only one indefinite article is required. The sentence is correct either way.
