What's the meaning of "go dutch"?

It means when 2 people go out to a social event, or a restaurant, each will pay for their own ticket, meal, and so on.

This expression is usually used when it's a man and a woman going someplace together, and they are not dating.

This way, it's understood they are not (yet) romantically involved.
