You should not worry about it. The differences between the English language and the American language are so small as to be meaningless. People in the English-speaking world who read and write and speak English effectively speak, read and write Standard English, which is understood by English-speakers everywhere. You are, undoubtedly, being taught Standard English. The nuances in pronunciation are likely beyond your skill, and the slight differences in spelling won't make English unintelligible to you, and will not prevent English-speakers from understanding what you write.
