Could you tell me the meaning of the following sentence "She drew the blinds to curtain off this merry sight"? Thank you .

"drew the blinds" = closed the blinds (blinds are like shades but made of plastics slats)

Basically this sentences means she closed the blinds so she would not have to look at this happy sight.

Without the context, it is hard to know if this is really a "happy sight" or if she is being sarcastic and it is a bad thing she is seeing.
