I saw this sentence " Are you in the middle of something . " on the english newspaper .Could you help me explain it ?

If someone asks: "Are you in the middle of something?"--they want to know if you are doing something which you do not want to have interrupted.

In many instances, Jenna Jameson could answer "yes, I'm in the middle of something, alright."
