I am not sure about the Chinese meaning of the phrase "lost-found"in "the marriage advertisements in newspapers look like lost-and-found notices".Could anyone explain it .Thanke you!

In the Lost and Found ads, people list lost pets, lost jewelery, lost papers--all sorts of missing property.

Similarly other people list property that they have found.

For example:
