I want to ask a question about the sentence "She let me use her bike". Some newspaper said it is not a correct sentence pattern. But we are taught that "let somebody do something."is a fixed usage. Then what is wrong with the sentence?

The newspaper was wrong. "She let me use her bike" is a correct sentence.

"She let me use her bicycle," is an example of informal usage, permitted in conversation and informal writing.

For formal writing, "She allowed me to use her bicycle," is more graceful and informative.
