How to explain this sentense'Land belongs to the city ;there is no such a thing as private ownership of land '.What is the differences between 'no such' and 'not such a'.

The phrase is more commonly, "no such thing." It means that the thing doesn't exist.

Example:

"Where can I find a unicorn?"

"There is no such thing."
