does "settle down" has a lot of meaning?

If a guy said he's settling down, does that mean he's ready to settle doown in a relationship? or his work? or life? and what's the difference ?

Settle down either means to establish oneself (as settle down in a new neighborhood, or settle down into a career), or, it means to behave properly (Mother might say: "You kids settle down, or i'll have to punish you.")

usually i heard the word "settle down" from someone who is ready for a comitted relationship, other than relationship, never heard the term "settle down".

like the other poster said, it can be used in career too, now i know...thanks.
