Can you tell me the difference between 'career' and 'ocupation' .

A career implies a life's work, something which the person concerned does because it is what they want to do in life--such as a doctor, a lawyer, a carpenter or a cook. Occupation simply means what you are doing at any particular time. Occupation might mean your job, but it also might mean no more than what you are doing right now. Your hobby could be your occupation is someone is referring to what you do in your free time.
