The BBC were filming there this morning, I understand it was Kate Humble and Bill Oddie filming for Autumn Watch.

There was a chap on the front with camera and tri-pod and from a distance of 30foot in a slow moving car, he really resembled you, if I could have parked up, I would have approached him and asked, you know!

"Your Walt from A2k I claim my £10..00 "

Hey Mathos-

I spotted this in a Sunday Times Culture section review of a book about explorers and adventurers in foreign lands. It rises a little above the level of trite nostrums and self-justifications.

Spendi, they are merely the rantings of some underpaid half pissed part time reporter, who never got a scoop and never will.

Was it Jane Gordon?

Yeah osso- run away from the truth and government policy in it's early stages.

Goethe said that the trouble with mankind is that it cannot abide sitting quietly in it's rooms and he's even more famous than Diderot.

Do you really like going through airports guarded by big men with automatic guns and being charged £3 for a cup of coffee.

It can't be that bad where you are surely?

Don't you realise that the poor have to be kept poor because if they weren't, and we can afford that, they would all want to fly to these exotic locations and where would you be then? The skies would become a generalised noisy twilight and it would carry no status. Assuming the roads round airports weren't gridlocked.

Bugger Off, suspendy!

If you don't want to go... don't go!

Stop lecturing people on their carbon foot-prints.

I'm going, if it's in Europe - why don't you come? It'll be harder to be a blue meanie face to face - shall I book a double?

You know... broaden your horizons... expand your mind...

Oh, go on!

You know you want to.....

Listen smorgsie sweetie-

If my mind expands much further it might be in danger of snapping like I've seen a suspender strap snap when over-expanded. All it results in is a lot of howling and an unsightly weal under the nose.

Now a tete a tete in a quiet and distinguished country house hotel might be more up my street. There are lots of them within easy range. Would you like me to enquire as to which one provides the most agreeable arrangements. All of them are in Europe although you wouldn't know it when the plush velvet curtains are drawn. Nor the time of day.

Well that is your opinion Miss Ossobuco ( I hadn't realised you were a dame till Spendi told me, I should have realised with all those pretty flowers you have for an avatar) and as your female, I'm not going to argue with you, or upset you in any shape or form. There's no prizes for arm wrestling women is there?

Accomplice to a troll, never been called that before, what about you Spendi, you ever been called a troll before?

No problem, Smorgs.. this thread is in shreds anyway. The three threads about a Europe 2007 meeting do have some data in them about when various people can possibly meet - but people might as well start a new one for new planning.

This thread has no cred, it's a shread, it's been read, it's dead, lets go bed, osso said, seeing red.

With smorgie's orgy and my country house in the rolling park idea and Jane Austen costumes and some firewater you might get together a meeting somewhat more stylish than that Chicago fiasco.

Mathos- I have been called a troll before but that's nothing compared to some of the soubriquets that have passed into my ears from time to time.
Often at close range with high decibels. I have been ranted at I'll have you know.

It sounded so tame I never bothered finding out what it meant.

Well, if one day I have time, I'll see if I can glean from the three threads the times when people could usually meet, as a kind of base of info for further threads. Some talked about this next year, and some spoke generally. Again generally, the times people could meet seemed to come out to from three to five particular times a year - my understanding of when Steve (representing people in any way connected to England's schools) could meet was late - and a lot of people could meet any time, given notice.

If anyone else wants to comb the threads and extract all that, feel free.

At the same time, you know I feel by now that if I wanted to meet people I'd just start a thread that I was going to this place around this time, and can anyone meet.

CI did that and named his threads major a2k meets. It pretty much worked.
