You could do some research on the growth in prescribing drugs to children. ADD and ADHD seem to have become catch phrases describing what many of us simply believe to be an incurable condition called "childhood". Sometimes children don't pay attention, sometimes their mind wanders, sometimes they want to be out playing instead of in a classroom. Parents and teachers used to have to rely on patience, perserverence and discipline. Now they often take a "quick fix" option. They rely on drugs.
