a/t the BBC-SCOTLAND there is a 'serious' crisis of sperm donors in scotland .
one wonders if non-scots would be allowed to donate ?
might there be a danger that a child born where the donor was not a local would not understand scottish ?

...THE SCOTTISH CRISIS...
maybe all those years of running through the heather and thistles in wool skirts is taking it's toll
fo god's sake put some pants on
Or at least some underwear!
Personally, when I'm roamin' in the gloamin', I find the odd thistle on the nadgers can be quite invigorating.
In all seriousness, there is a shortage across the entire UK, owing to a recent change in the law whereby the male donor is no longer entitled to anonymity.
When an offspring reaches the age of eighteen, they have the right to look at the records in order to trace their sperm donor father.
Why would anybody want to do that?
Perhaps to see if the fheir father was a grey squirrel.
More likely to see if he had any assets.
Even more likely to check on one's father's medical history.

" A 15-year-old boy has tracked down his anonymous sperm donor father using a swab test and the internet.
He sent off his own cheek swab to an online genealogy DNA-testing service.
This case has serious implications for men who have donated sperm in the past with promises of anonymity................."
Well-yer 'ighness- You can't get something for nothing and sperm has a value which at least asymptotes with nothing.
