I've been on Forteo for six months and just haven't been overly concerned about temperature. After reading a number of emails , perhaps I haven't been concerned enough. I have refrigerated the pen as instructed but when I inadvertently left it out one night it never occurred to me to toss it. I figured it would just lose a bit of potency maybe. The idea of getting a thermometer never crossed my mind. My husband and I just returned from Spain last week. We put the pen in its original box and used the two ice blocks it came with wrapped it with duct tape and secured it in plastic. I didn't have a thermometer and it didn't feel particularly cold when we got to Spain but it was the best I thought I could do. Does anyone know what happens to the drug if it warms up a few degrees? Is it totally useless?

When you are traveling even domestically a one hour flight can become an all day affair. I did realize that putting the gel packs in the zip part of the traveling pack is counter productive because they are less effective than if you just put them in the middle and put the pen between them.

Thanks for the thermos suggestion and any others you may have.
