First, stop using sth.--it's a phoney abbreviation, used only by clueless adolescents in text messaging. If you mean the word "something," then write the word "something."
The American Civil War lasted four years, from April, 1861 to April, 1865. There were certainly more than one battle, and in fact, several battles were very important contests, with tens of thousands of casualties. Even conservative estimates put the number of Americans who died in the war at nearly one million (which was quite a lot in the 1860s). You will need to be more specific in your question if you expect a reasonable answer.
Go your local library and get out books by the author Shelby Foote. I promise it will not kill you to read a book.
