for other europeans, the best known quality of the British is reserved.
which should i use?what's the difference?

No, i wouldn't like to attempt to explain prepositions. In any language i've ever studied, the use of prepositions, especially in conjunction with particular verbs, as an idiomatic thing, and one which is intuitive to a native-speaker. Everybody else just has to learn them.
