What does "let somebody down" mean?Thank you!
It means to fail to do something which was expected of oneself.
"He was supposed to give me a ride, but he let me down, so i had to walk home."
That means that i expected someone to give me a ride, because he said he would--but he failed to give me a ride, and i had to walk home--so he let me down.
