I have looked everywhere online and I can't find out who said, "The sun will never set on the British Empire." Please help me!
I am not sure whether that is an actual quote.
It was indeed said that "The sun never sets on the british empire" as during the period of 1920s or so when the empire was so large that during a 24-hour day there was never a moment at which it was not daylight somewhere in the British Empire.
But does anyone know who said "The sun never sets on the British Empire"?
Corman
"Anonymous Student", whoever it has been.
Welcome, Corman, ... and even if you try 'google', you won't find a better answer
Corman,
I do not believe that quote is attributable.
Some sayings will always be anonymous, someone coined it and then others started using it.
I'd almost equate it to a phrase like:
"There's no place like home"
Who said, "I leave you my memory. It will be dear to you, and you will defend it"
Also, Who said, "We must not leave this world without leaving traces which remind posterity of us" I need to know thes for extra credit in school"
Well, when I could get an extra credit for it as well ...
Honestly: no idea.
