Past:
1978 Fairmont wagon, 200 I-6/4-speed MANUAL transmission, paid $75, sold to a friend, still running. Sold.
1979 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, paid $225, have completely rebuilt it, currently off the road after getting punted into a guardrail last October. Still own it.
1983 Jeep J-20 4x4 pickup, 360 AMC/4-speed manual, about 7MPG, 8' Western snowplow, it saw some pretty brutal treatment as a work truck, but it's still going. Sold.
1985 Dodge Shelby Charger Turbo: 175HP 2.2/5-speed, 15" wheels with low-profile tires, lots of fun, 29MPG, but small, loud, bouncy, & uncomfortable on long trips. Sold.
1987 Dodge Dakota: 2.2/5-speed, longbed 2WD pickup, bought for $50, rewired, & promptly had an uninsured 18 year old in a Hyundai total it. Scrapped.
1976 Dodge D-200 extended-cab pickup: 400/automatic, paid $100 for it, replaced the front fenders & ball joints, sold it for $1300. Buyer fixed a burned valve & still has it.
1984 Ford Escort diesel: a zero-option (not even power steering) economy car, the 48MPG was nice, but I havte small cars. I paid $50, rebuilt the front end, drove it for 7 months, & sold it for $150 to a friend. He still has it, with over 300,000 miles.
1992 Ford F-350 4x4 diesel: 7.3 turbo diesel/5-speed, a zero-option (A/C & cruise, originally no radio, no carpet, vinyl seats) construction foreman's truck. I paid $4000 for it (including a snowplow) with 298,000 miles. It's since been hit twice (in the left front in a parking lot & in the right-rear hard enough to destroy the bed), & I replaced the destroyed bed with a Reading utility box.
1986 Chevy Caprice Classic Landau Sport Coupe (seriously): EFI 4.3 V6/3-speed automatic, free after sitting for a year in a guy's carport. I replaced the rear brake lines, trans cooler lines, & most recently the radiator ($40 at a junkyard). It rides smoothly & gets ~20MPG. I like it.
