What does VOA stand for ?
It can have one of two meanings. One is the Voice of America, which is an organization which broadcast news into communist countries in the days of the Soviet Union. The Voice of America still exists, and is dedicated to broadcasting radio and television news from an American perspective in other parts of the world.
The other meaning is Voluteers of America, which is a non-demoninational, religiously-based charity organization in the United States. It is not very well known, though, even in America--so, i suggest that in whatever context you read VOA, it referred to the Voice of America.
Can you provide the sentence in which you read it?
Thank you for the answer.
