Request for Translation
George,

I'm new to Able2Know and you seem to be the resident Latin expert. I was wondering how one would say the Latin proverb (which I can't seem to Google anywhere for the original language), "Too much wine will make a sane man mad."

Your help is appreciated.

BTW, it occurred to me just now that I might ask your description of the meaning of my surname, De Dea (I've been told that the second half is the feminine genitive form of Deus, but I'm not convinced that it's genitive/dative). Any idea? (Even in Italy the name wasn't readily recognized; that is, no one could tell me where we might be from on my father's side.)

Thank you!
:-)

Well, I've never heard that one, but here's how I would translate it.

Nimis vini sanum insanum faciet.
