Talk to here and acknowledge the fact that she doesnt think you are fat, but tell her you do, and you need her support.

I do not know you, so I have no way of telling what the problem is. There are a number of possibilities:

You really are not too fat, but have a distorted body image. (Are you anorexic?)

You are heavy, and your friend likes you just the way that you are.

Your friend and you have a different idea of what it means to be too fat.

You are heavy, and your friend is concerned that if you lose weight, and become more glamorous, she might lose you. Because of that, she will not support you in losing weight.

Unless we knew a lot more about you, we could not possibly offer a helpful answer. How tall are you? How much do you weigh?

Without actually seeing you, prettyrussian, it's impossible to say which of you is correct in this matter.

You cannot "make" someone else support you.

Can you learn to do without her support?

Hey, I feel your pain. My girlfriend won't support me either! She says I have to get up every morning, go out and work for a living! She's got a great job! Why won't she support me in living a life of luxurious sloth?

Hmmm.

I think I agree that if you want to work on those parts of your body, do so, and if she doesn't want to support you, that's her perogative. It certainly doesn't sound like a situation where your health depends on losing weight or anything like that -- and sounds a bit to me like your health depends on working on body image issues, but impossible to say from here.

Good luck.

IN order to best assess this in a scientific manner, may I suggest that you and your girlfriend get naked and take a picture of yourselves in a pose that intertwines your respective body parts and post it. Thats the only way I think that we can give you any advice. I think Im speaking for all the applied science minded people on this site.
Thank you.

god, you need to be hanging around on the anorexic sites to get what you want to hear.

you bmi is 16.8....anything under 18.5 is considered underweight.

you have body dysmorphia, and you're not the one who understands.

nothing anyone says here will change your mind, so I'd suggest you and your partner go to visit the doctor together.

That is all from central control.

Out.

Scientifically speaking, the various body parts show up better in internet photos if they're well oiled. Crisco works just fine.

I can't do links on this computer because there is a safety thing in place but if you highlight it and paste it into the address bar you can see all the pics.I bet you will.Anyway thanks for your replies people I am finding them very interesting I don't think I can have anorexia though because you have to be thin to have that and I am not.I can go to the doctor for nothing!

This says it all. Not anorexia, body dysmorphia. Different, but no less worrisome. Please go see the doctor and tell him exactly what you are telling us.

PrettyRussian--

Rather than losing weight, concentrate on exercises which will firm those areas of your body which displease you.
