A.sent B.sends C.send D.must send

The English subjunctive has a present and past form. The present form is formed by the the base form of the verb. (Minus the word "to", so the base form, and hence the present subjunctive, of the verb "to watch" is "watch"). The past subjunctive is identical with the past tense except in the case of the verb be, which uses were for all persons: If I were rich …, If he were rich …, If they were rich….

Therefore,

The housemaster was strict. He requested that we not watch television.

So A is the correct answer. B is wrong because it is not English. C is not English either. D is the past tense (not subjunctive) and would be nonsense in the sentence in the question.

2. The teacher insisted that we all ___back by two o'clock.
A.be B .to be C.would be D.shall be

The subjunctive of the verb "to be" is "be" so-

A is the correct answer - that we be back.

3. The idea is that the nation ___an unmanned spacecraft to explore the planet first.
A .sent B.sends C.send D.must send

The subjunctive of "to send" is "send", so C is the right answer.
