Comment on No. 4:

you can use two (smaller) newspapers, one for the chips and the other for the fish.

When in some distant countries, I've seen newspapers used for personal hygiene purposes...

I know that such was done when I was a child here as well. We didn't only store it, though, like Set suggests.

Cut out parts of the printing, to use in extortion notes.

Use as filler in boxes that are used for shipping, to prevent item from moving around during shipping. Also wrap breakables in multiple layers of newspapers, to protect from breakage.

Fill up a whole room with newspapers to use in a film set on the life of the Collier Brothers.

Stuff in toes of shoes that are too large for you.

Use to make funny cut outs to amuse children.

Put through paper shredder, and use as inexpensive confetti

Use to cover floor when painting walls, to prevent dripping on carpeting.

Ditto to cover floor when dyeing hair, to prevent dye from ruining rug.

Roll tightly, and secure with Scotch Tape. Use on bottom of outside doors to prevent drafts.

Cut out paictures of celebrities (or interesting stories) to make artistic collages.

Make funny paper hats.

Talk about recycling -- newspaper pressmen (printers) use them to make beanies that they wear to keep the ink out of their hair while they work around the presses.
